Rules, Laws and keeping the same
I've hear many times, rules were made to be broken. Not so. Rules are made to protect us from ourselves and others. I just received a text that US-2 in the Upper Peninsula is Temporarily closed. There has been a major accident. A Detour has been established. Have you ever counted the number of broken rules while driving? Speeding, Texting, distracted driving of any sort, not stopping at Red lights, stop signs, not yielding, oh and here's a big one, passing on the right side when a car is turning left in front of you. The list goes on. I wonder how many rules were broken to precipitate this accident. Who's life will be cut short because they believe the rules are for others? Let's recommit to living by the rules, taking time to be careful and courteous of others. you will arrive safe, and it will only be a few minutes later. It may be our own life or that of our loved ones that is spared. I read with interest when people ignored the Laws of God, and he turned his wrath upon the people. Is that really what it takes for us to be a righteous people? How do you explain to your fishing buddies that you just spent three days inside a fish because your walk with God is suffering? It didn't work too well for Jonah. Let's communicate with God daily, so we find favor with him, and he is pleased with us.
