Search, Ponder and Pray

Is it enough to just read the Word of God, or do we have to Study it out in our minds. Pray about what we have read and understand it to be the will of the Father.
Men in all ages have been in God's favor because they "opened their minds" to understanding the revealed word of God. Take time today to not simply read, but study the words out in your mind. Let the lessons of the ages distill into your soul.

John 5:39

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Jacob 7:23

And it came to pass that peace and the love of God was restored again among the people; and they searched the scriptures, and hearkened no more to the words of this wicked man.

Acts 17:11

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
